Fluid vision

When we see, we see subjectively, that is, it cannot be decoupled from our other senses, we see selectively, we let moods and experiences decide what we see and how we place what we see in our life.

A tree makes noises, spreads smells, you can feel it, it can feel and has a story, in the context of other stories, it can become a board, a bird can live in it, worms can eat it, it communicates with other trees, it turns light into sugar. He turns bad air into good air. […] everything diffuses into everything, in a huge cosmological context […].

In contrast, our lives are a barely noticeable blink of an eye […].

Astrid Köppe’s drawings and enamel works move precisely in this transit space, as if conceived by an eyelash and a second eyelash painted, what is still organic, where does the filigree assertion of no less filigree reality manifest itself, interpretations remain fluid-like our looks, the wait for the point of view of things. […]

Perhaps a tree was watching and it rustles, it knows more than we do, and this knowledge is Astrid Köppe’s art. And now it’s smiling.
