Galerie Michael Sturm, which has represented Marcia Hafif for many years, would like to commemorate this impressive artist and her work with a group exhibition. The focus of the show Leben = Werk is on works from Hafif’s various creative phases. But it would have been – even posthumously – entirely in her sense not to put her on a pedestal alone, but to place her work in the context of a younger generation of artists with whom she maintained an intensive exchange throughout her life. This framework is provided by works by artists in the gallery, in which life is inscribed in one way or another in the work and vice versa.
