Since it was founded in 1999, the Stuttgart artist group Filderbahnfreundemöhringen FFM has been providing surprises in the exhibition world with concepts that are as radical as they are humorous. In their engagement with materials, spaces, titles, and animals, the FFM move very consciously and yet with ease between platitude and profundity. Word games are exhausted, clichés are confirmed and role assignments are undermined. No matter whether curators or exhibition visitors, mothers or politicians, whether sheep, pigs, mice or maggots, nobody can be sure of their cause. Between potential slapstick and collateral real satire, between confusion and knowledge, a lot is possible and often impossible.
