The Stuttgart artist Daniel Sigloch began an apprenticeship as a stone sculptor in 1991 and from 1997 studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart with Dorothea Schulz, Prof. Werner Pokorny, and Prof. Micha Ullman.

Sigloch’s works trigger “half the art history of landscape painting when looking at it”, according to his former teacher Werner Pokorny.

For the design of his photographic landscapes, Sigloch wanders through urban parks, forests, and meadows to collect various ideas. The works are then created on the computer. The artist layers pictures over pictures and he removes cultural traces such as electricity pylons or buildings. One looks in vain for clear perspectives in Sigloch’s pictures, but in return, you get tense compositions and a multitude of impressions.
