Just look around: construction sites. Construction sites are everywhere. New spaces emerge. Progress cannot be stalled. Caught by this virus, Filderbahnfreundemöhringen FFM enter the premises of Galerie Michael Sturm to challenge its static and spatial potential. (Un)comfortably wedged between architecture and sculpture they create places of rest and contemplation and offer unexpected views into hitherto hidden aspects of the gallery space.
The forces that drive the artists collective Filderbahnfreundemöhringen FFM studied fine arts at the Stuttgart academy from 1997 till 2004. Their teachers were Dorothea Schulz, Werner Pokorny and Micha Ullman. 1999 saw the foundation of Filderbahnfreundemöhringen FFM and one year later they opened the FFM project space “Gästezimmer (Guestroom)” in the former tramway depot in Möhringen, Stuttgart.
